Bahrain welcomes accession to Shanghai Cooperation Organization as dialogue partner

Manama, September 17 (BNA) The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed its accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and many Arab countries as a dialogue partner, on the occasion of the organization’s annual summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended Bahrain’s wise foreign policy led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He reiterated Bahrain’s constants and diplomatic values ​​that call for human solidarity, rapprochement between peoples, and regional and international cooperation in consolidating international peace and security, resolving conflicts by peaceful means, and supporting sustainable development goals.

He stressed Bahrain’s aspiration to build strong dialogue links and constructive coordination with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in a way that enhances regional and global security, peace and stability, in addition to combating violent extremism, terrorism, drug smuggling and money laundering.

He stressed the importance of moving to enhance economic cooperation in achieving food security, protecting the environment, combating climate change, investing in energy, education and health, encouraging inter-trade and tourism, and supporting dialogue between cultures and civilizations.
