Bahrain to ban crab fishing for two months

Manama, Mar. 13 (BNA): The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture announced a ban on hunting and selling crabs for a period of two months.

The ban, from March 15 until May 15, aims to stop fishing during the breeding period in order to preserve marine wealth and biodiversity in Bahrain’s territorial waters.

The marine monitoring teams, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, will start monitoring operations to prevent any violations or abuses of the decision and ensure the protection of Bahrain’s marine wealth.
