Bahrain rises bar for religious freedom, tolerance

Manama, June 1 (BNA) Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, head of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, said that the Kingdom of Bahrain stands tall in the region in terms of religious freedom and tolerance, and is considered a role model. .

He said in the closing session of the European Union and Bahrain conference for three days, entitled “Expanding the Tent: Freedom of Religion and Belief”.

“One of the most important points I noticed in the last two days of the FORB conference is that the two seas This is the European Union’s gateway to this region. “

He added that Bahrain enjoys this site as a corridor of peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance due to its achievements in the present and the past.

The religious freedom we are witnessing is due to the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In the past, as I said earlier, there were many factors that pushed Bahrain to be the key player in the march of peaceful coexistence. The main example is the 200-year-old historical example set by the rulers of the kingdom at the time.

Among the many factors that helped Bahrain achieve this beautiful coexistence are historical examples of freedom of religious tolerance over 200 years, and today, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims of all denominations establish their places of worship.

I spoke of history because, thanks to him, everyone has the right to freely practice their religious rites in their places of worship.”
