Bahrain press made quantum leap during HM the King’s prosperous era: Shura Council

Manama, May 7 (BNA) The Shura Council expressed its pride in the professional and civilized role played by the national press in supporting the Kingdom’s march and its effective contribution to serving the nation and preserving its achievements.

The Shura Council affirmed, in a statement on the occasion of Bahrain Press Day, which falls on May 7 of each year, that the press in the Kingdom has achieved a qualitative leap during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa after the consolidation of its principles. Freedom of opinion and openness, which enabled it to carry out its honorable national role through its commitment to the responsible word and enlightened opinion.

The Shura Council also highly valued the government’s initiatives led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to encourage Bahraini journalistic and media competencies to continue their dedication and honorable positions in a responsible manner. It enhances awareness and knowledge, which qualifies Bahrain to win many Arab and international awards in the field of distinguished and effective journalistic work.

The council also commended the Bahrain Journalists Association for the role it has played for more than two decades.

He also expressed his appreciation to the press and media cadres for their continuous interaction and coverage of the work of the legislative authority, and their keenness to highlight legislative achievements with transparency and impartiality.

He renewed his firm support for the Bahraini press and its role in contributing to the democratic process in the Kingdom during the prosperous era of His Majesty the King.
