Bahrain Permanent Representative to UN participates in WTO event

Geneva, December 3 (BNA) The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Ambassador Dr. Yousef Abdul Karim Bucheery, participated in a historic event marking the conclusion of the negotiations. With the initiative to regulate domestic services in the World Trade Organization, marking the first result of services in the organization since 1997.

His Excellency Ambassador Bucheery delivered a national statement in which he thanked the sponsors of the initiative, highlighting the importance of the recent accession of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which aims to mitigate the restrictive effects of trade.

He expressed the Kingdom’s full support for the adoption of the declaration on the conclusion of negotiations on local regulations for services and related controls, which primarily aim to mitigate the trade-restricting effects that negatively affect trade in services. He indicated that the Kingdom is following with interest the expected positive results.
