Bahrain participates in World No Tobacco Day

Manama, May 30 (BNA): The Ministry of Health participates in the World No Tobacco Day, on May 31, under the slogan “Cultivate Food, Not Tobacco”.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that tobacco improves the health of farmers and the health of the planet.

WHO encourages governments to end tobacco subsidies and use the savings to support farmers to switch to more sustainable crops that improve food security and nutrition.

World No Tobacco Day aims to raise awareness of the dangers of tobacco consumption and draw global attention to the tobacco epidemic and its preventable consequences.

Bahrain joined the WHO Convention on Tobacco Control in 2007. The Kingdom has been working since then to implement the provisions of the Convention, through the National Committee for Combating Smoking and All Kinds and Tobacco Products, which has made great efforts to raise awareness of its dangers. smoking among the community.
