Bahrain participates in Sustainability and Government Work Forum

Cairo, June 6 (BNA): The House of Representatives participated in the Sustainability and Government Action Forum organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) of the League of Arab States.

The forum aims to promote sustainability in government work by strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors, and exchanging experiences between governments to improve their performance in the sustainable development sector.

He discussed innovative sustainable policies, the importance of the green economy as a strategic priority for Arab governments, and Arab governments’ readiness for a sustainable future.

The Council was represented by members of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Hisham Ahmed Al-Asheeri, Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, and Mamdouh Abbas Al-Saleh, Chairman of the Services Committee.

Al-Asheri affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s readiness to achieve sustainability, confront climate change and the economic and social challenges associated with it, and explore future sectors that make contributions to sustainable development by defining proactive climate policies, visions and measures.

He added that governments play a decisive role in facing climate change, as they can adopt policies and strategies aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and ensuring a prosperous and sustainable future, noting that the Arab region is one of the most climate-affected regions in the world. changes.

Al-Saleh stressed that the world is facing concerns about the green economy and its priority in various international and regional forums, especially the United Nations and its specialized bodies.

He stressed that Bahrain continues to pursue policies and initiatives that support the promotion of climate action, and strategies aimed at promoting a sustainable environment future.
