Bahrain participates in IPHRC meeting

Jeddah, May 21 (BNA): The Bahraini delegation is headed by Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed, Head of the Human Rights Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and an independent permanent member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The Human Rights Commission participated in the work of the twenty-first session of the Commission, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In the thematic discussion session on business activities and human rights, Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed shed light on Bahrain’s unique experience in the economic empowerment of youth and women and how it contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and the government. programs.

She also stressed the Kingdom’s steps in promoting human rights, particularly with regard to labor laws. She noted Bahrain’s unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of its workforce, ensuring fair treatment, and providing a conducive work environment through comprehensive legislation.

Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed indicated that Bahrain’s comprehensive efforts helped it maintain its first classification, for the fifth year in a row, according to the US State Department’s Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP), becoming the only Arab country to obtain this classification. .
