Manama, November 17 (BUS): The “DIVA! The Italian “Glamour in Fashion Jewelery” exhibition opened today at the Bahrain National Museum on Wednesday evening, and will run until December 11, to introduce the public to the unique beauty of Italian art and design.
This exhibition is organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The opening ceremony was attended by BACA Director-General for Culture and Arts Sheikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Marina Serini, Italian Ambassador to Bahrain Paola Amadi, and a number of diplomats. Artists, media professionals and other officials.
Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of BACA, said on this occasion: “Italian culture constantly enriches our cultural movements with all its arts and crafts, and today’s exhibition comes as a reflection of the most beautiful Italian jewelry displayed at the inaugural Bahrain National Museum. She thanked the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Embassy in Bahrain for their cooperation in making this exhibition a success.
“These efforts reflect the depth of relations between the two friendly countries and the collective achievements to enhance cultural work locally and globally,” she said.
Serene expressed her happiness to be present at the opening of the exhibition “DIVA! Glamor in Fashion Italian jewelry exhibition, and thanked the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities for its cooperation in making the exhibition a success.
She pointed out that there are many commonalities between Italy and Bahrain, including interest in arts, crafts and fashion, and she hoped that the exhibition would attract visitors’ curiosity to explore the Italian art pieces presented by the exhibition, which have refined craftsmanship and design. .
Al-Emadi said that the Italian Embassy is honored to present this exhibition at the Bahrain National Museum, which is held in cooperation with the Culture Authority. Everyone is welcome to visit the exhibition and explore its holdings that bring Bahrain closer to Italy.
After nearly two years of waiting due to the pandemic, this first fair brought from Italy has a more special meaning and flavor to us.
The exhibition, curated by Professor Alba Cappellieri, Professor Politecnico di Milano and Director of the Jewelery Museum in Vicenza, will display an impressive collection of more than 200 pieces of Italian jewellery, from the La Dolce Vita years, through the Pret-a-Porter of the 1980s, minimalism from the 1990s to the Baroque New in the new millennium.
The gallery wants to tell us the story of Italian fashion jewelry and wants to pay tribute to Italian creativity and manufacture, art, technology, beauty and innovation.
While touring the corridors of the exhibition, visitors will be able to learn about many details about the types of jewelry created by the most famous Italian jewelry and gold designers, the finest fashion brands, as well as the work of independent designers.
What distinguishes the Italian Jewelery Fair is its ability to bring together different generations of designers old and contemporary, and it is an opportunity to learn about the experiences and visions of many skilled Italian designers and fashion under one slogan: Excellence in Italian Jewelery.
The jewelry pieces on display show the fine Italian taste in design, as you can see very beautiful details in these pieces made of different materials and precious metals such as silver, gold and also coral glass and Murano glass, which were formed in its final form through the use of ancient techniques such as wax casting, decorations and more.
