Kuala Lumpur, June 10 (BNA) The Bahrain national football team will meet the host Malaysian team tomorrow in the second match of Group E of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers at Bukit Jalil National Stadium here.
Tomorrow’s match is crucial for the national team to top Group E and secure a place in the 2023 Asian Cup.
As per AFC regulations, the six teams that top their groups will qualify for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup Finals, along with the five best second-placed teams. 14 teams have already qualified for the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in June next year and was scheduled to be hosted by China, but due to the outbreak of the Corona virus earlier this year, it will now be held in another undecided country.
The national team already has three points after beating Bangladesh 2-0 in the opening match of Group E matches. Malaysia also has three points after beating Turkmenistan 3-1.
Bahrain will play Turkmenistan next Tuesday, the third and final match in the six-day qualifying qualifiers.
