Bahrain marks World Immunization Week

Manama, April 23 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain joins the world in celebrating World Immunization Week, which is celebrated in the last week of April every year. This year’s theme, “The Big Catch” aims to raise awareness of the importance of vaccines and their role in preventing many diseases and protecting society.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved many achievements in this field thanks to the support and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Safe and highly effective vaccines are provided to protect the health and safety of everyone.

In the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Expanded Program on Immunization is a cornerstone of public health and primary health care. The recommended vaccines are administered from birth through routine vaccination of children and extend to different age groups such as schoolchildren, women of childbearing age, the elderly, groups at high risk of diseases, health workers and travelers to different travel destinations.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of its achievements in combating infectious diseases and controlling epidemics through vaccination, which mainly appeared in the fight against Covid-19, setting a role model that won the praise of the World Health Organization.
