Manama, October 5 (BNA) The Bahrain International Cup has been promoted to third place within the international group, and the Kingdom of Bahrain has been promoted to the second part of the Blue Book after the approval of the International Federation of Horse Racing Authorities (IFHA).
In addition to promoting the Bahrain International Cup to international status in Group C, the International Classification and Racing Planning Advisory Committee (IRPAC), the Asian Style Committee (APC), has awarded a status listed in the Charter Cup and His Majesty’s King and His Majesty’s Cup. His Highness the Crown Prince Cup.
The upgrade of these four races comes at a very exciting time for horse racing in Bahrain with the upcoming third round of the Bahrain International Cup on Friday 19 November 2021 and the start of the new Bahrain Turf Series starting on Friday 10 December 2021.
This important development is attributed to the continued support that the Bahraini equestrian industry receives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and is supported by the commitment of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Higher Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, headed by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to promote it.
Sheikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa, CEO of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, said: “We are delighted that the Bahrain International Cup is now in Group C.
The annual race rankings have increased over the past two years and the power and quality of the race has been very high since the first race in 2019.
The directives and leadership of His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa played a pivotal role in achieving this achievement, and we look forward to developing the equestrian industry in Bahrain in the next stage in line with His Highness’ vision.
Sheikh Salman also said: “Last year we had several individual winners in Group One and now with the race officially within Group Three, we are looking to build on this and attract a strong group of international runners.”
