Bahrain International Airport prepared for surge in international visitors

Manama, November 5 (BNA) Bahrain International Airport Company (BIA) said that Bahrain International Airport is ready to receive the influx of visitors to the Kingdom this month to attend a range of leading international events. The expected increase in the number of passengers is another indication of the recovery of air traffic after the sharp decline caused by the epidemic.

Besides aviation events such as the Bahrain International Airshow 2022 which will be held from 9-11 November and the Middle East and African Duty Free Conference (MEADFA) to be held during the end of November, Bahrain is preparing to receive dozens of visitors at events such as Jewelery Arabia, Cityscape and the Manama Dialogue .

“The Kingdom of Bahrain continues to attract tourists from all over the world with its vibrant culture, world-class attractions and reputation for hosting leading international events,” said Mohammed Yousef Al-Binfalah, CEO of Bahrain Airport Center. Although global passenger traffic has not yet reached pre-pandemic levels, growth remains steady.”

He added: “Bahrain International Airport expects to serve approximately 6.5 million passengers by the end of the year, and we hope to return to serving about 9 million by the end of 2023. The pandemic has re-emphasized civil aviation as a global enabler to support and recover at times from the crisis.” With the emergence of these challenges, the sector has returned to business as usual, supporting the growth of tourism, trade and national development.”
