Bahrain-Hungarian relations discussed

Budapest, Feb. 1 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Sjägarto held talks in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Zayani expressed his happiness at visiting Hungary and stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to develop relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He pointed to the importance of the official visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Hungary in 2019, which constituted a quantum leap in their strategic partnership, and had fruitful results that contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation.

Al-Zayani stressed the importance of exchanging high-level visits between officials of the two countries to consolidate friendship and partnership, expressing his aspiration to discuss all areas of cooperation that would contribute to advancing and developing bilateral relations.

Chigarto praised Al-Zayani’s visit to Hungary, and praised the advanced level of cooperation between Bahrain and Hungary and its fruitful results. He affirmed his country’s desire to push forward friendship and cooperation to serve common interests.

The two sides discussed issues of common interest, including bilateral cooperation in various economic and development fields, and opportunities to enhance coordination in political fields.

They stressed the importance of concerted efforts by the international community to settle global disputes by diplomatic means in accordance with the rules of law and international covenants.

The ministers reviewed developments in the global situation, regional and international crises and conflicts, and their repercussions on international peace and security.

Dr. Al-Zayani expressed his appreciation for the generous hospitality by the Hungarian authorities, indicating his aspiration to continue joint efforts to advance the path of bilateral cooperation and achieve common goals and interests.
