Bahrain hosts INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements Forum meeting

Manama, Dec. 28 (BNA): The Professional Standards Committee (PSC) of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) elected the National Audit Office (NAO) in Bahrain as a vice-chairman of the committee.

The Internal Audit Office (NAO) is represented by the Audit Director of the System Audit Directorate, Ahmed Muhammad Butti, who was chosen by acclamation by the committee members during a recent meeting.

Botti said, “The office was chosen by the representatives of the member states of the committee for its capabilities, expertise, role and contributions related to professional standards at the international level.”

He added, “With Bahrain as vice-chairman of the committee, we aspire to contribute to the quality of its work and achieve its goals in advancing the auditing profession and developing and raising the level of professional standards in line with global developments.”
The new committee consists of representatives from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Morocco, Iraq, Jordan and Palestine and is chaired by the representative of Egypt.

Butti indicated that the committee approved during its meeting its operational plan and projects for the next three years.
PSC was established in ARABOSAI in 2008, and aims to contribute to the development of professional audit standards and guidelines for their application and update them in accordance with global developments and to support member states in implementing these standards.
