Bahrain hosts Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence

Manama, October 19 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sponsored the Bahrain Forum for East-West Dialogue for Human Coexistence, which will be held over two days next November.

Among the participants will be the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Al-Tayeb, His Holiness Pope Francis, and a number of intellectual figures and prominent religious representatives from various countries of the world. .

The dialogue is organized by the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence in cooperation with the Council of Muslim Elders and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, affirmed that the Kingdom was keen to spread a culture of peace and coexistence between religions and to become a global example in embracing religious and sectarian diversity. He said that Bahrain’s hosting of the forum confirms its constant keenness to build bridges of dialogue between leaders of religions and sects and to spread a culture of peace and coexistence among peoples of different faiths.

The King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence launched several initiatives with the aim of promoting a culture of peace and coexistence, most notably; King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence, King Hamad Fellowship Program for Faith in Leadership and the launch of the Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration.
