Bahrain exports BD1.174 million worth of products of national origins during Q3 2021

Manama, October 17 (BNA) The Information and e-Government Authority issued its report on foreign trade for the third quarter of 2021, including data on trade balance, imports and exports (national origin) and re-exports.

The value of imports increased by 16% to reach 1.349 billion dinars during the third quarter of 2021, compared to 1.166 billion dinars for the same quarter of the previous year. The top ten countries accounted for 70% of the value of imports, while the remaining countries accounted for 30%.

According to the report, Brazil ranked first in terms of imports to Bahrain, with a total of 214 million dinars, China ranked second with 167 million dinars, and the United Arab Emirates ranked third with 95 million dinars.

Non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the best product imported to Bahrain with a total value of 249 million dinars, while aluminum oxide came in second place with 80 million dinars, and aircraft engine parts came in third place with 52 million dinars.

The value of exports of national origin increased by 76% to reach 1.174 billion dinars during the third quarter of 2021, compared to 669 million dinars for the same quarter of the previous year. The top ten countries in terms of the value of exports of national origin purchased from Bahrain 73% of the total value, while the remaining countries accounted for 27%.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among the countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin, importing from Bahrain 236 million Bahraini dinars. The United States of America came in second place, with a value of 211 million dinars, and the United Arab Emirates in third place, with a value of 108 million dinars.

Unwrought aluminum ingots emerged as the largest exported products during the third quarter of 2021 with a value of BD382 million, agglomerated iron ore and its concentrates came in second place with a value of BD250 million, and unwrought (unalloyed) aluminum ranked third with a value of BD63 million.

The total re-export value increased by 22% to reach BD 175 million in the third quarter of 2021 compared to BD 143 million for the same quarter of the previous year. The top ten countries accounted for 84% of the re-export value, while the remaining countries accounted for 16%. Saudi Arabia ranked first with 53 million dinars, the second UAE with 50 million dinars, and Singapore with 11 million dinars.

Four-wheel drive vehicles emerged as the best re-exported product from Bahrain with a value of 20 million dinars, gold ingots came in second place with 17 million dinars, and aircraft engine parts came in third place with 15 million dinars.

The trade balance, the difference between exports and imports, recorded a total deficit of one million dinars during the third quarter of 2021, compared to 335 million dinars for the same quarter of the previous year, with an improvement in the trade balance by 99.8%, and this is reflected positively on the value of the trade balance.
