Bahrain experts take part in UN meeting

Manama, June 7 (BNA): The Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Hussain Salman Matar, headed the delegation of Bahraini experts participating in the Qatari visit to review the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption by the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bhutan, during June 6-8.


Colonel Hussein Salman Matar confirmed that this participation came after reviewing the self-assessment list and the observations made on Chapters Two (preventive measures) and Chapter Five (assets recovery) of the agreement. He pointed out that the review mechanism included each state party reviewing the implementation of two other countries of the provisions of the agreement.


The Director of Legal Affairs explained that the verification process included the compatibility of the legislation and procedures of the implementing country with the provisions of the agreement, so that the two reviewing countries, with the assistance of the Secretariat of the Conference of the States Parties, would prepare the audit report that identifies successful experiences.
