Bahrain Clear distributes BD 204 million under Amanat Program

Manama, December 8 (BNA) Bahrain Clear announced that it has succeeded in distributing cash dividends for the year ending on December 31, 2020, including interim dividends amounting to BD 204 million, of which BD 200 million is in respect of annual cash. Dividends and BD 4 million in respect of accumulated cash dividends.

Amanat established two separate funds: the Accumulated Cash Dividend Fund (unclaimed for 6 months), and the Annual Cash Dividend Fund.

The total “accumulated cash dividend fund” transferred by listed companies (39 companies) to Bahrain Clear amounted to BD37 million, of which BD4 million was transferred to 1937 eligible shareholders as of October 2021 representing 10.81% of the total amount. It was received.

As for the “Annual Dividend Fund”, the value of the dividends amounted to BD200 million, which represents 96% of the total dividend announcement. Since the creation of Amanat, the cash dividend has increased from an average of 82% as of July to 96% as of November.

Bahrain Clear managed the distribution on behalf of 26 listed securities that announced dividends for the year ending December 31, 2020, including interim dividends on the Bahrain Bourse, and all investors received their dividends via IBAN bank transfers.

Since Bahrain Clear took charge of dividend distribution in 2021 following Amana Resolution 3/2020, we have intensified our efforts to update KYC information and IBAN details to reach authorized shareholders. “We will continue this process until the unclaimed profits are fully distributed,” said Sheikh Khalifa bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bahrain Clear.

Bahrain Bourse has established the Investor Protection Funds Program “Amanat” in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 48-2 2020/20 to ensure investor protection and manage cash dividend distribution for all listed companies.

Article (10) of the secretariat’s decision 3/2020 stipulates that the right to claim dividends due to shareholders is not subject to a statute of limitations.

Bahrain Clear urges all investors to update their KYC information and IBAN details to ensure that their winnings are received promptly.
