Bahrain celebrates International Day of Disabled Persons

Manama, December 2 (BNA): Bahrain celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated every year on December 3 and approved by the United Nations General Assembly since 1992.

This International Day of Awareness and Support for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities came in line with the international conditions for supporting human rights, achieving peace and security, and implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

The Minister of Labor and Social Development, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to improve the conditions of persons with disabilities by launching initiatives and projects to serve them.

He stressed that Bahrain is appreciated in regional and international forums for its contribution to providing the best for people with disabilities under the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince. Prince and Prime Minister.

Humaidan said that the executive plan of the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities 2021-2026 is being implemented in cooperation with the Higher Committee for Persons with Disabilities, the United Nations Office in Bahrain and all relevant civil and official bodies.
