Bahrain Bourse, BIBF sign MoU

Manama, November 30 (BNA) The Bahrain Stock Exchange (BHB) and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at continuing cooperation between the two institutions to provide various public courses in addition to professional certificates related to the capital market within the framework of the Investment Academy.

The MoU also aims to expand the scope of cooperation to include the delivery of several courses and programs within the framework of the Academy of Sustainable Development including sustainable development, ESG assessment and registration, technological change and sustainability.

The MoU was signed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, and Dr. Ahmed Al Sheikh, Director of BIBF at the institute’s new headquarters in Bahrain Bay.

It is worth noting that Bahrain Bourse, in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Financial Studies (BIBF), launched the “Investment Academy” in 2017 to provide market know-how targeting beginners, intermediate and professional investors to enhance their knowledge of the capital markets through innovative teaching methods and techniques.

The investment academy aims to build capacity and enhance Bahrain’s position as a financial center for banking services.

The Academy also aims to expand Bahrain’s horizon and market position to become an intellectual center for training and knowledge of the capital markets.

The Investment Academy offer mandate covers public awareness sessions and professional certifications as well as key trending topics in the capital markets.

Furthermore, the Academy of Sustainable Development brings together the best and brightest change makers and industry professionals to offer a carefully defined set of programs that will equip participants with the knowledge and competencies necessary to undertake critical work in sustainable finance.
