Bahrain and Saudi Arabia announce the signing of MoUs and agreements

Manama, December 10 (BNA) following talks between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and based on the results of the second meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin. Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, agreed on the following:

1. The Kingdom of Bahrain will grant the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sovereignty over subscriber data held by Saudi companies in cloud computing centers located in Bahrain.

2. The Kingdom of Bahrain will grant the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a partnership with the International Center for Sea and Air Freight Services in Bahrain, giving Bahrain-based Saudi companies the opportunity to apply for operator accreditation and a host of user privileges.

In addition, to enhance bilateral cooperation, the following memoranda of understanding and operational programs were signed:

1. Memorandum of Understanding on Cyber ​​Security Cooperation. The memorandum will enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of cyber security and develop the capabilities of both kingdoms in the face of cyber threats.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Center for Cyber ​​Security in Bahrain, and His Excellency the Governor of the National Cyber ​​Security Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Eng. Majid bin Mohammed Al Mazeed.

2. Memorandum of Understanding on the protection of intellectual property rights. The MoU will facilitate the exchange of experiences related to intellectual property systems and policies.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Bahraini Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, H.E. Zayed Al-Zayani, and the Minister of Commerce and Minister of Information in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.

3. An executive program for standardization. The program supports standardization between the two kingdoms, to be reflected in intra-regional trade, regulations and technical requirements.

The program was signed by the Bahraini Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, His Excellency Zayed Al-Zayani, and the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, His Excellency Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi.

4. An executive program on implementing technical cooperation on conformity assessment procedures for biodegradable plastic products. The program will enable suppliers and manufacturers in Bahrain to align conformity assessment procedures for biodegradable plastic products with those in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The program was signed by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dina, Bahrain’s special envoy for climate affairs and CEO of the Supreme Council for the Environment, and the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, His Excellency Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-. cane;
