Bahrain Airport Company and Thales-SITA renew partnership at Bahrain International Airshow

Manama, November 11 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the administrative and operational authority of Bahrain International Airport, and Thales SITA, which specializes in airport operations and communications systems, have signed an agreement to provide support and maintenance services to BIA. This will cover mission critical systems related to airport security and operational passenger handling.

Bahrain Airport Company CEO Mohamed Yousef Al-Binfalah signed a three-year agreement along with Thales Vice President of Sales Roger Nacouzi and Regional Director of SITA Christophe Ravoir during the second day at the Bahrain International Airshow. The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of Information, Communications and Technology Mahmoud Al-Siddiqi and other officials from the two companies. The new agreement will enter into force in January 2023 after the current two-year contract expires, confirming the long and strategic partnership between the two companies.

Mohammed Al-Binfalah, CEO of BAC, said: “We are pleased to renew our partnership with Thales-SITA, which has provided advanced solutions to BIA over the past two years. This brings us one more step closer towards achieving the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals and ensuring BIA continues to work with modern, reliable, performance-improving mission systems, allowing us to make data-driven decisions faster and more informed.”

Christophe Ravoir, CEO of Thales in Bahrain said: “Thales – along with SITA – has been awarded by BAC an additional 3-year maintenance contract for the security and operational systems.
