BACA launches ‘Young Museologist’ initiative

Manama, August 4 (BNA) The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities announced today the launch of the “Youth Museum World” event at the Bahrain National Museum, following the launch of the “Young Archaeologist” initiative in January of this year. .


Both events aim to strengthen the national identity and introduce young people to the history and civilization of the Kingdom

The Young Museum Scholar initiative, which takes place every Thursday from 9-11:30 a.m. during August, is aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 13 and aims to introduce participants to museology and the role of museums in preserving the cultural heritage of nations.


On the opening day of the program, 20 children participated in which they learned about the tasks carried out by specialists in the museum, including recording, restoration, display of collectibles and tours, through a practical application that simulates reality.


The Director of Antiquities and Museums at the British Airports Authority, Dr. Salman Al-Mahari, indicated that the “Young Archaeologist” initiative is implemented in heritage sites in the winter, when the weather is suitable for holding outdoor activities, while the “Young Archaeologist” program is held in the summer.
