BAC CEO meets newly elected CIPS Chairperson

Muharraq, April 19 (BNA): Shaima Al-Halibi, Head of Procurement Department at Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), became the first Bahraini woman to be elected President of the British Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) – Bahrain branch.

The CEO of Bahrain Airport Company, Mohammed Yousef Al-Binfalah, met Al-Halibi to congratulate her on this achievement.

CIPS is the world’s largest organization dedicated to the profession, with a global community of more than 70,000 members. The nonprofit entity works for the greater good, ensuring that procurement and supply chain management professionals have the capabilities to achieve the sustainability goals of their organization.

Our female team members play an important role in the management and operation of the airport, and we are proud to have such highly skilled personnel within our ranks. Al-Binfalah said, “The appointment of Mrs. Al-Halibi is a significant achievement and represents the first time that a Bahraini woman has assumed this role.”

“I wish her success and am confident that she will help make positive changes that will enhance BAC’s procurement and supply chain practices, ensuring that we continue to exceed expectations. The insight she will gain through this position will prove invaluable in helping to raise the high standards for a company Bahrain Airport even further.”

Al-Halibi’s new duties include sharing knowledge and promoting awareness about the best procurement and supply chain practices in the country through webinars and visits with various entities.
