Jeddah, October 25 (BNA) The Auditor General, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated in the nineteenth meeting of the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, attended.
The Auditor General said that the National Audit Office always tries to promote joint Gulf action to achieve goals of common interest in support of the relations established by the heads of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
He said that cooperation within the Gulf in the field of audit is expanding, as many joint programs and plans are being implemented, especially those related to training, development and knowledge exchange.
The heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions approved the draft training plan for the year 2023, which included 5 programs: “Indicators for measuring the performance of internal audit units”, “Health sector audit”, “Developments in international financial reporting standards”, “Auditing at the present time in the era of Technology” and “Assessment of the performance of strategic plans”.
The participants agreed on the training strategic plan for the next three years (2023-2025), which was prepared by the National Aviation Office in Bahrain.
The 2023-2025 plan was based on three strategic objectives: developing the capabilities of workers in the regulatory bodies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, exchanging experiences, enhancing cooperation in the field of skills and knowledge development, scientific research and professional qualifications, and developing institutional capabilities in the country. The field of training, development and knowledge.
The heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions were briefed on the updated final drafts of the joint manuals: “Audit of oil and gas facilities”, “Pre-monitoring”, “Examination of Zakat and tax revenues”.
The meeting honored the winners of the fifth competition of the Gulf Cooperation Council for research and studies in the field of auditing and accounting, which included 3 topics: “Auditing work mechanization and its role in developing performance”, which was won by Somaya Saleh Al-Mir and Maryam. Ibrahim Talib from the Audit Bureau in Bahrain, and “The Role of Audit Institutions in Auditing Under Emergency Crises” and “Reviewing the Performance of the Sustainable Development Goals” won by the oversight bodies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
