Auditor General participates in ARABOSAI meetings


Jeddah, October 26 (BNA) Sheikh Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Khalifa participated in the National Audit Bureau in the fourteenth session of the Arab Financial Supervision and Accounting Organization (ARABOSAI).

The meeting was chaired by the General Accounting Bureau in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The council composed of the supreme auditing and accounting bodies in the Arab countries that are members of the League of Arab States approved the agenda of the previous meeting and the report of the board of directors on the follow-up of the organization’s activity and the measures it took. Ensure the implementation of the previously approved work programme.

The Assembly also approved the financial report of the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The State Audit Bureau announced that the State Audit Bureau of the United Arab Emirates, its second deputy, will host the fifteenth session of the Council.

The meeting discussed the report of the Strategic Plan Committee on the achievements for the year 2018-2022, the strategic plan for the year 2023-2028, and the organization’s work plan and budget.

The General Assembly elected the members of the new board of directors and the heads of the main committees of the organization and declared May 24 the Arab Day of the Supreme Audit Institutions.

The meetings included a technical symposium on the second day held on “the objectives of the transition to accrual-based accounting and its role in improving the performance of public finances”, “the effects of the transition to accrual-based accounting on the work of government oversight.: Opportunities and challenges” and “road map to achieve excellence in developing Work methodologies and capacity building: solutions and methods.

The third meeting of the association was devoted to the meetings of the new board of directors and the formation of the strategic plan committee.
