Stantec is currently looking for a Resident Engineer Assistant with QA/QC background for a flood prevention plan project in Qatar.
Some of the key job responsibilities for this role entail:
• Responsible for reviewing design proposals, work program, material submissions, method statements, shop drawings, payments, change orders, claims, etc.
• Effective management of site supervision personnel during construction and ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with contract specifications.
• Ensure the quality control of materials and the quality of work that are installed, operated and maintained.
• Maintaining the resident engineer’s daily diaries, diaries and reports by his subordinates.
• Liaise with the client, project management and contractor to resolve project problems, in addition to the relevant authorities as and when required.
• Strong understanding of operating and control philosophies of surge protection devices, able to review and approve contractor submissions for hydraulic studies and calculations, pumps, surge vessels, and control valves.
• Supervising, reviewing, monitoring and reporting progress.
• Ensure site safety practices
• Preparing weekly and monthly progress reports
• Familiarity with contract terms and quality assurance.
• Liaise with the client and coordinate with the government organization and other consultants/contractors
• Adheres to and consistently implements internal company operations and policies such as business and contracting rules.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Works in a manner that ensures personal safety and the safety of fellow employees by following the company’s health and safety guidelines and policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years as a country in infrastructure works and water projects.
• Proficiency in English
• Ability to manage heavy workload, with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, and review your work on a regular basis while consistently achieving your goals.
• Strong team work capabilities.
• Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and continuous basis.
• A proactive approach, working effectively in coordinating complex activities and tasks, and taking professional responsibility in all matters.
