Madrid, Feb. 7 (BNA): Marco Asensio’s second-half goal secured three points for Real Madrid as they won 1-0 at home against Granada, who gave a near-perfect defensive performance in La Liga.
Asensio found a way to get past Granada’s defensive wall with a superb corner kick from the edge of the penalty area that passed into the right corner, Reuters reported.
After second-placed Seville drew 0-0 at Osasuna on Saturday and third-placed Real Betis lost 2-0 at home to Villarreal, Real Madrid extended its lead to six points.
Missing four key players, Real Madrid completely dominated the match and finished with almost 70% possession and 10 shots on goal against just three of Granada.
