Arsenal beats Leicester 2-0 to maintain grip on 4th place

London, March 13 (BNA) Arsenal maintained its control of fourth place in the English Premier League thanks to its 2-0 victory over Leicester on Sunday, while Arsenal achieved its best period this season.

Thomas Partey scored early and Alexandre Lacazette added a penalty in the second half to give Arsenal their fifth win in a row in the league.

It has kept Arteta’s side above fifth-placed Manchester United by one point and with three games on hand, reports the Associated Press.

Leicester’s hopes of securing a place in Europe are fading fast, although the team’s weakness from set-pieces has proven costly once again.

Barty headed in the opening match in the 11th minute after he shook one of the defenders to meet Gabriel Martinelli’s corner at the near post.

The second goal resulted from a free kick inside the area. Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel saved Ben White’s first attempt but Barty’s rebounding header flew out of Caglar Soyuncu’s outstretched hand before clearing it off the line.
