Ambassador lauds Bahrain-Oman relations strength


Manama, October 24 (BNA) The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Bahrain, Mr. Faisal Hareb Al Busaidi, affirmed that the relations between Oman and Bahrain are rooted and solid through economic interests, thanks to a wide range of common factors linking the two countries.

In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the ambassador said that the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to the Kingdom and his meeting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa embody the keenness of the two leaders to strengthen brotherly relations.

He added that the Bahraini-Omani relations are rooted in the depths of history and transcend the bonds of brotherhood, history and common culture.

The civilizations of the two countries “Majan” and “Dilmun” were linked through cultural and commercial relations through the ancient port of “Sumhuram” and “Dilmun”.

The ambassador pointed out that the results of archaeological excavations and scientific reports proved the existence of these cultural ties and trade cooperation between the two countries, which confirmed their depth through different ages.

The envoy affirmed that the Bahraini-Omani relations were consolidated thanks to the care it gave them since the era of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said and continued during the reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham.

He pointed out that the fraternal and social ties have deepened and expanded between the peoples of the two countries.

He added that officials in Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman are keen to translate this association by strengthening cooperation in various political, economic and cultural fields.

The ambassador indicated that the meetings of the joint committee between the two countries are held regularly to frame their cooperation and open more opportunities, so that the relations between Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman gain greater strength in light of geographical, religious and cultural ties.

He referred to the economic and commercial cooperation through the signing of many agreements and memoranda of understanding between the chambers of commerce and industry in the two countries and the executive programs, which reflects the common interest in strengthening economic and trade relations, and stimulating investment exchange opportunities.
