AlUla Royal Commission signs agreement with Louvre Museum

Medina, September 7 (BNA) The Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate signed a five-year agreement with the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The museum includes a display of a sculpture dating back to the Lihyanite period.

The Louvre Museum will display the historical and cultural legacy of Saudi Arabia and AlUla.

The agreement highlights the strength of Saudi-French relations in the cultural field.

The Saudi Press Agency stated that the statue is made of sandstone, which weighs more than 800 kilograms, is more than two meters high, and has been affected by erosion factors many times.

With its Lihyanite sculpture, the museum details human creativity from time immemorial.

It displays formation details classified as one of the merits of the Lihyanite schools of sculpture.

The sculpture showcases the historical and cultural legacy of antiquities in AlUla and the work of the Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate to preserve the natural and cultural heritage.

The Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate announced through the master plan “A Journey Through Time” the establishment of the “Kingdoms Institute” in the Dadan region.

Its urban design was inspired by the Dadan civilization.

The Kingdom Institute will include seven major archaeological programs and research, the most prominent of which are: Preservation of rock art. Languages; inscriptions; Agriculture; Sustainability in prehistoric times, and many others.
