Algeria, September 22 (BNA): The former Algerian president and former speaker of the National Assembly, Abdelkader Bensalah, died Wednesday, less than a week after the death of his predecessor Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The Algerian presidency said that the former interim president died at the age of 80, adding that his funeral will take place tomorrow, Thursday, after noon prayers in Algiers.
Bensalah assumed the presidency temporarily after the resignation of former President Bouteflika in April 2019.
