Afro-Asian Affairs Chief meets Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry President

Thimphu, June 8 (BNA): Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Faris Al Dhaen, Head of Afro-Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Tandy Wangchuk, President of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the sidelines of their visit to review the second session. on the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.


During the meeting, the ambassador pointed out the importance of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of business delegations and experiences in the field of small and medium enterprises and their role in developing the economy and providing job opportunities.


She expressed her keenness to increase cooperation between the two countries.


The President affirmed his country’s desire to strengthen the joint economic partnership with Bahrain.


He briefed the delegation on Bhutan’s efforts to be carbon neutral and noted that for more than 46 years the Bhutan government has relied not on its GDP as a measure of progress, but rather through its Gross National Happiness (GNH) which places great emphasis on protecting the country’s rich natural environment.
