Acrobatic Borre completes Colombia’s comeback win over Japan

TOKYO, March 28 (BNA): Rafael Santos Pore scored a stunning overhead goal as Colombia came from a goal down to beat Japan 2-1 in Osaka on Tuesday.

Kaoru Mitoma gave Japan the lead in the third minute as the Brighton & Hove Albion winger rose above the defense to beat Camilo Vargas with a powerful header down.

John Doran equalized 12 minutes before half-time when he scored home after Diver Machado had been reduced in a rare attack for the visitors in the first 45 minutes, Reuters reports.

The Colombians took over after the second half and Bure struck in the 61st minute, scoring from 12 yards out after Daniel Schmidt saved John Arias’ attempt at the goal and the ball went up in the air.

Vargas then denied Japan an equalizer five minutes later with a save on his left, denying substitute Ayase Ueda with a header.
