771 housing units to be built in Salman and Khalifa Towns

Manama, Jan. 2 (BNA): The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amina bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, confirmed that the ministry has offered 3 lands for the implementation of 771 housing units and apartments within the government’s land development rights program in partnership with the private sector. The project included 131 housing units and 360 apartments in Salman City, in addition to 280 housing units in Khalifa City.
Al-Rumaihi reviewed the details of the projects, as she indicated that the first land will be developed in the city of Salman to implement 131 housing units on an area of ​​25,000 square meters, and 3 other lands will be developed in the town to provide 360 ​​apartments on an area of ​​25,000 square meters as well.

The Khalifa City land site, which has an area of ​​50,000 square meters, will be developed to implement 280 housing units.
The minister said that submitting bids for the development of lands allocated for residential apartments will end on the first of this March, while the date for submitting bids for the development of lands allocated for residential units ends on the fifth of this March.
She stressed the importance of putting projects on the government land investment platform, as it is a gateway for the private sector to invest in government projects.

Al-Rumaihi explained that all information related to these projects has been included in the platform so that it is available to real estate development companies.

The minister indicated that these projects represent the first phase of the government’s program for developing land rights, which includes in its master plan a timetable for the implementation of 19,000 housing units in partnership with the private sector, with an investment value of one billion Bahraini dinars.

She explained that all units of these projects will be at competitive prices suitable for the beneficiaries of the new housing financing.
