Shah Alam, December 27 (BNA): Floods that hit the city of Selangor last week affected 632 families of police officers and individuals in the state, said Director of the Department of Crime Prevention and Community Safety Bukit Aman Datuk Ramli Din.

He said that the most affected individuals are those attached to Klang Utara, Kajang and Shah Alam Police Headquarters, including Taman Sri Moda Police Station, in Section 25 here, Malaysia National News Agency (Bernama) reported.

“We will provide assistance to all affected police officers and personnel,” he said at a press conference after the flood victim assistance program at the Selangor Police Unit headquarters today.

In the programme, Al-Ramli said that 15 tons of rice donated by four companies and an individual will be distributed to the affected officers and individuals.

Meanwhile, Ramli, commenting on a news report on the existence of certain entities providing unlicensed money lending services to flood victims in several areas of the state, said he believed that Selangor Police Chief Datuk Arjunidi Muhammed had taken the necessary measures in this regard.
