5.9 magnitude Earthquake rattles Taiwan

Taipei, Oct. 11 (BNA) The island’s meteorological office said a 5.9-magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in the sea off the east coast of Taiwan shook the island, and there were no immediate reports of damage.


The earthquake briefly shook buildings in the capital, Taipei. The Bureau of Meteorology added, that the depth is 17.9 kilometers, and can be felt in the northern, central and eastern parts of Taiwan.
