Works Ministry: 9 projects worth BD11.2 million awarded in April

Manama, May 16 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, Shaikh Mishaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, announced the awarding of nine infrastructure projects, worth 11,293 dinars, and 119 projects last month.

The Undersecretary said in a statement today that bids have been invited for eight other projects with an estimated total cost of 10,872,279 Bahraini Dinars.

He said, “The projects were awarded within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to develop public services and upgrade the infrastructure throughout Bahrain to meet the needs of citizens, support the national economy, and keep pace with urban and investment development.”

He affirmed the ministry’s commitment to continue implementing infrastructure development projects that contribute to meeting the needs of citizens and improving the level of public services.

The Tender Committee awarded four road projects for BD 9,559,488. These projects mainly include the maintenance works of Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge, South Bahrain Ring Road – Phase Two (TUNNEL, Street 27, and Road 79 Development Project in Saar).

Sheikh Mishaal bin Mohammed said that these projects come within the framework of the ministry’s efforts and initiatives to facilitate traffic, reduce traffic jams and improve traffic safety.

He indicated that three other sanitation projects have been awarded at a total cost of 1,576,580 Bahraini Dinars. These projects include the modernization of a number of sewage networks across Bahrain.
