Manama, Jan. 4 (BNA): Works Minister Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj conducted field tours throughout Bahrain and reviewed the efforts of the emergency teams to ensure the safety of roads and the flow of traffic during the rains.
The field tour included Crown Prince Road, Jerusalem Road, National Charter Road, Umm Naasan Road and Zallaq Road.
He stressed that the main road network and tunnels are passable and operate safely, and rainwater is poured into the rain team.
The minister also inspected the Al-Lawzi area in the Northern Governorate to ensure the effectiveness of the solutions that were implemented to prevent the accumulation of rainwater.
He referred to the expansion of the open water channel adjacent to Street 30 leading to Lake Al-Lawzi to raise the absorptive capacity for rainwater drainage.
The Ministry of Works has allocated a hotline 17545544 to report rainwater gatherings in the main streets.
