With Neuer out, Bayern still looking to sign a goalkeeper

Berlin, Jan. 12 (BNA): Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann wants a new goalkeeper before the Bundesliga resumes next week.

Bayern was looking for replacements for the injured Manuel Neuer, who broke his leg in a skiing accident last month, but the club’s search has failed to yield results so far.

Neuer is out for the rest of the season with what he says is a broken leg. There was speculation that the 36-year-old German goalkeeper’s career was threatened after a report by Bild newspaper that the injury was more serious.

Kicker magazine reported Wednesday that Neuer is already working on his return and aims to return in time for next season, reports the Associated Press.

Back-up goalkeeper Sven Ulrich is set to replace Neuer when the league resumes with Bayern Munich’s visit to Leipzig on January 20, but Nagelsmann is short on options if anything should happen to Ulrich.
