Ways to increase Bahraini-Italian economic cooperation, investments discussed

Manama, May 2 (BNA): Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sameer Abdullah Nass, affirmed that the Bahraini-Italian relations are progressing steadily at all levels, especially in the fields of trade and investment.

He stressed that Italy is a strong and reliable trade and economic partner for Bahrain, noting that the volume of bilateral trade increased by 28% in 2022.

Nass made these statements while receiving here today the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Paola Amadi, in the presence of the heads of the Italian-Bahraini Business Council, Khalid Rashid Al-Zayani and Ignacio Moncada, in addition to a number of members of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance economic cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields, stressing the need to intensify efforts to attract Italian investments to Bahrain, which leads to an increase in the volume of bilateral trade and tourism.

The two sides discussed practical initiatives that would enhance trade relations and increase bilateral investments.

They also reviewed the commercial and investment opportunities that exist in tourism and other key sectors, in addition to the success of Italian companies in Bahrain, Bahraini companies and investments in Italy.

They also agreed to strengthen the role of the Bahraini Italian Business Council.

Ambassador Amdi affirmed her country’s keenness to strengthen friendly relations with Bahrain, citing the steady growth of mutual investments and bilateral trade, noting the increase in Bahraini exports to Italy by 124% on an annual basis.

It also expressed interest in developing Bahraini-Italian relations to achieve common goals.
