WAM delegation visits media organisations in Ecuador, signs 7 MoUs

Quito, Jan. 29 (BNA): A delegation from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) discussed ways to enhance cooperation with media institutions in Ecuador.

The discussions took place during the visits of the WAM delegation, led by the Director General of the Agency, Muhammad Jalal Al-Raisi, to the cities of Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador, to review the results of the World Media Conference held in Abu Dhabi in November 2022.

The two sides also discussed prospects for media cooperation between the entities of the two countries, and the participation of Ecuadorian media institutions in the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The United Arab Emirates will host later this year.

The WAM delegation, accompanied by the country’s ambassador to Peru and the non-resident ambassador to Ecuador, Mohammed Abdullah Al Shamsi, visited the headquarters of several media entities, including Comunica Empresa Publica, Teleamazonas, El Comercio, Ecuadoravisa TV, TC Television, RTS, TVCE, and El Universo newspaper. .

During her visits, WAM signed seven cooperation agreements with these entities to enhance news exchange and media cooperation. The delegation also visited the headquarters of the Gernasa Group.

Al-Raisi said that the great success achieved by the inaugural Global Media Conference is a source of motivation to build on these achievements and strengthen WAM’s partnerships with international media institutions, including those in Ecuador, to develop a more comprehensive agenda for the next session of the conference. It happened.

The United Arab Emirates is preparing to host COP28, and WAM is especially keen to welcome media organizations from Ecuador to cover the global event expected to be a turning point in the global climate action campaign.
