Manama, April 28 (BNA) The General Manager of Vatel Bahrain, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, has just returned from a surprise visit from Lyon, France, where the global headquarters of Vatel International is located.
The visit aimed to expand opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions, in particular in bringing back more brands under the Vatel umbrella to Bahrain such as Vatel Restaurant, Vatel Café and Vatel Gourmet.
This will serve as a platform for Vatel Bahrain students to apply their knowledge in the field of hospitality in a real-world environment, providing them with practical experience as part of their curriculum with the aim of developing Bahrainis in the field of hospitality. In addition, all three Vatel brands will be open to the public for an exciting culinary experience.
During his visit to Vatel’s campus in Lyon, Sheikh Khalid Al Khalifa visited Vatel Gourmet in Duhamel and the Hotel Dieu branch, where he toured the campus facilities and learned more about food preparation and its operations at Vatel Gourmet. He also toured Vatel Restaurant and Vatel Café in Lyon.
The General Manager commented: “The hospitality and tourism sector is an ever-growing industry in the Kingdom, and bringing these iconic brands is an important step towards the Economic Recovery Plan and Tourism Strategy 2022-2026. Students will gain hands-on experience while adhering to international practices, as they will be introduced to the functions of the kitchen and dining room. and reception in real conditions.
