Two Indian air force jets crash, one pilot killed

New Delhi, January 28 (BNA): Two fighter planes of the Indian Air Force crashed today, Saturday, after they had an accident, and one pilot was killed, according to the Indian Air Force.

“The aircraft was on a routine flight training mission. One of the three pilots was fatally injured. An investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident,” the Air Force said in a statement.

It added that the accident occurred near the town of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh state.

Officials said earlier that one of the two planes crashed in the state of Madhya Pradesh and the other in the neighboring state of Rajasthan.

The Air Force did not specify the type of aircraft involved, but the media reported that it was a Sukhoi-30 and a Mirage 2000.
