Türkiye’s national flag carrier cancels 170 flights due to expected adverse weather

Istanbul, Feb. 6 (BNA): Turkish Airlines (THY), the national carrier of Turkey, canceled as many as 170 flights scheduled for Monday due to the expected bad weather conditions of snow in Istanbul.

Yahya Austin, Turkish Airlines Vice President for Media Relations, said on Twitter that the cancellation comes in line with the restriction decision taken by the Meteorological Emergency Committee (MDCM).

And Anadolu Agency stated that a total of 152 flights to and from Istanbul Airport, and 18 flights to and from Sabiha Gokcen Airport were cancelled.

Schools in Istanbul and the capital, Ankara, will also remain closed on Monday due to severe weather conditions.
