Transportation Minister participates in Non-Aligned Movement meeting

Manama, May 25 (BNA): Minister of Transport and Communications, Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, participated virtually in the Ministerial Information and Communications Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Azerbaijan.

The minister participated at the invitation of Doreen Bogdan Martin, Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union.

The meeting highlighted the participants’ views on cooperation between countries in the field of information and communication technology, and highlighted potential measures for the effective implementation of the sustainable development goals.

The Minister of Transport and Communications stressed the importance of developing the information and communication technology infrastructure as one of the main pillars for achieving the goals of sustainable development and improving the quality of life. He emphasized the role of this sector in finding innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.

The minister referred to Bahrain’s success in developing the information and communication technology infrastructure through major initiatives that reflect the Kingdom’s strategic directions aimed at supporting economic development and facing future challenges in this vital sector.
