Tourism Minister visits RCSI – Bahrain Medical University

Manama, Jan. 29 (BNA): Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi visited the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Committee, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, and CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Dr. Nasser Ali Qaidi.

The President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain, Professor Samir Al-Atoom, welcomed the Minister and the accompanying delegation and gave an overview of the establishment of the university, majors and academic plans.

He affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting the national development strategy and economic vision 2030, and supporting plans to transform Bahrain into a distinguished regional center for higher education.

He pointed out that the university has invested 100 million Bahraini dinars since its establishment in developing the university campus and its facilities, which reflects the commitment to support the development of education in Bahrain and enhance its contribution to the national economy.

The minister emphasized the role of the university in supporting tourism, as it attracted more than 1,300 male and female students of fifty nationalities enrolled in various medical specialties.
