Job description and summary
A career in our financial accounting practice, within Tax Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique and ever-changing tax disciplines. You will advise clients on their domestic and overseas tax affairs, while serving as a strategic advisor on business analysis, indirect tax management, dispute resolution, and global tax solutions for enterprises.
Our team provides our clients with customized accounting services based on their internal needs and current IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) guidelines. You will work with our team to provide expert advice and training in areas such as financial instruments, business combinations, pension and stock schemes, listings, corporate treasury, corporate secretarial, and corporate governance.

Support in accounting period closing activities in accordance with IFRS or local GAAP for functional areas of responsibility which include preparing and recording journal entries, account tables, analytics and financial statements.
Supporting payments and bank transfers on the bank’s portal.
Strong knowledge and experience in VAT and withholding tax.
Ensure appropriate closing accounting activities and external reporting (timing and quality) in relation to guidelines and deadlines.
– Supporting the audit process and preparing the regular financial statements.
Reviewing and recommending amendments to accounting systems and procedures.
Candidates will be required to possess a strong ability to work under pressure and manage their time, as the delivery role requires the creation of high quality complex client deliverables that will be submitted for managers and partner reviews.
Ability to delegate to more junior members to provide opportunities, and coach to help deliver results.
Ability to experiment with new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems.
Use a wide range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry trends or sectors.
Work with others to gather information from different sources when analyzing and solving complex problems
Candidates are expected to further develop their knowledge of IFRS and accounting issues and their impact on our clients so that they can help shape their thinking and our success in the marketplace.
Candidates will work with colleagues across all Middle East offices on client work and internal initiatives.
Keeping abreast of current trends in the region in terms of improving its digitization capabilities.
Candidates are also expected to build and maintain positive, productive and professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
The role sits within a rapidly growing part of the accounting team at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Candidates will be an integral part of the team responsible for delivering accounting solutions across a range of sectors. You’ll have access to the latest training and development tools and the support of PwC’s broader network.

requirements
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business studies, accounting or finance.
3-5 years of accounting or other related experience in a large 4 company, preferably within the Middle East region.
DipIFR, CPA or CMA preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload with flexibility and ability to handle well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
– Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). English language proficiency is required.
– Strong math and research skills and presentation skills.
In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and General Accounting Principles, as well as local GAAP.

– Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
The ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East and the world where the project dictates.

The role requires interaction with regional and international law firms, and the senior management of our clients, so the candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills.
