Job description and summary

You will focus on promoting and monitoring compliance with applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwC’s regulatory, litigation and reputational risks.

Our Risk and Quality team identifies and assists internal teams to mitigate and control client engagement risks. As part of the team, you will advise working teams within PwC on sound contract provisions, standards and approaches in accordance with PwC policies, principles and standards.

Responsibilities:
The Tax, Legal and Quality Risk team advises customer-facing employees and internal employees primarily on risk management issues related to procurement, development and/or use of technology solutions internally by the Company or as part of providing services to clients. He also advises internal corporate functions on general risk management matters and provides effective and comprehensive risk management support throughout the Middle East region. You will work as an integral part of this team and will be involved in a wide range of activities which will include liaising with partners, internal employees, and customer handlers across the company’s service lines, as well as other parts of the company including Network Security, Independence and Compliance, Office of General Counsel (OGC), Procurement and Risk teams and quality in every service line. It is a high-level role that requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with both senior and junior staff.

The role will entail supporting the regional TLS R&Q team to:
Work with project teams to identify, evaluate and advise on mitigating risk concerns related to relevant solutions, as well as navigating the company’s various approval processes to obtain approval for these new solutions;
Provide general risk management advice to internal company functions and be the first point of contact, escalating issues where appropriate
Work as part of a problem solver team with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business problems from strategy to implementation.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure high quality, practical and commercial R&Q advice that meets business needs and is delivered to clients’ high delivery standards
Advise on more complex R&Q issues and draw on specialist support from the broader R&Q community (OGC, Independence, Compliance, LoS R&Q)
To be the first point of contact for inquiries from employee-facing clients and to provide practical advice and solutions to their research and question inquiries.
Provide training to partners and employees, including one-on-one and seminar-based training, in relation to R&Q/contracting.
Assist in reviewing and providing any exceptional KYC approval based on the customer due diligence and services to be performed.
Work with the Regional OGC and Contract Review Team by ensuring that action on client contracting matters is promptly taken, an effective response and negotiations are conducted
Work with entry-level resources to manage the project and facilitate engagement compliance reviews (ECRs) conducted for TLS partners and managers and provide timely updates on the status of reviews.
Advise on the correct filling of the TLS (Client Acceptance and Engagement) questionnaire covering: Relationship Verification, AFS, AML, Scoping of Work and Drafting of Engagement Letters.
Able to develop a deep understanding and knowledge of the company’s risk management process while providing solutions and providing innovative ideas to enhance the process
Manage and participate in the annual Engagement Compliance Review (ECR) on all partners and principals in the Middle East tax practice.
– Assist in the Quality Assurance Review conducted by project management activities and ensure the smooth running of the programme.
Planning the annual quality audit program for the selected territories by working with the selected offices and identifying resources to participate in the audit.
Submit contract requests to the OGC / Contract Review team or other members of the TLS R&Q team.
Provide regular feedback on the main risks within the region and provide insights into some of the risk management issues when faced by the participating teams.
– When necessary, support customer facing teams in conference calls with clients, third parties and relevant legal advisors in order to resolve issues related to 3 of our contract documents.
Previous risk management, compliance, regulatory experience or experience in a client facing role is desirable.
It is advisable to know the applicable taxes in the context of risk management, PwC’s risk management policies and procedures, and the TAC services offered by the company.
